St. Cecilia 100 Year Celebration - Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Sacred Heart Church in Broussard, LA was the setting for a very special occasion on September 9, 2009 (09-09-09 of which the date will not occur for almost another 100 years as pointed out by principal Mr. George Fontenot). Father Louie Richard officiated at the mass to kick off the celebration of St. Cecilia Catholic School’s 100 year anniversary. Alumni and current students were in attendance for this very special celebration. After the Mass, the students, faculty, parents, alumni, and honored guests gathered for a balloon launch on the front lawn of St. Cecilia School. After the balloon launch, the alumni were treated to a breakfast reception in Bishop Jarrell Hall, where memorabilia from years gone by were on display. Beautiful 100 year lapel pins were given to the alumni in attendance. In addition to the balloons, and lapel pins, St. Cecilia partnered with Action Specialties to offer many items for sale to commemorate this very special school year. Some of the many items available for sale by the PTC were t-shirts, Christmas ornaments, yard signs, pencil bags, car decals, and embroidered blankets all embellished with the 100 Year Anniversary logo. Congratulations St. Cecilia!
